My client in Southampton is looking to appoint an Occupational Therapist to join the Children's Services for a 3 month initial contract.
You'll work within a service that provides coordinated assessment, care planning and therapeutic intervention for children and young people with multiple and complex disabilities.
- Rate: £30 - £36 p/h
- Location: Southampton (must be onsite of a minimum 3 days a week)
- Contract: 3 month initial contract with the view of extension
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 -17:00
About the role:
- Assess needs of disabled children and young people for personal independence, alongside team members and related professionals.
- Deploy resources under the Senior Occupational Therapist's guidance, ensuring risk assessment meets departmental priorities and statutory requirements.
- Assist in recruitment and development of Occupational Therapy Assistant staff under the Senior Occupational Therapist's direction.
- Recommend and provide specialised equipment to disabled children and young people, offering guidance on its use to them and their carers.
About you:
- Must have at least Diploma/BSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent and have HCPC registration.
- A sound awareness of the additional needs of children with complex disabilities.
- An understanding of the minor and major disabled adaptations that can benefit children with complex disabilities.
