About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Manager to join international Hotel Group this role holds the position of number One within the finance department and will report directly to the General Manager. The primary duties and responsibilities are outlined below, but will extend beyond these parameters: Facilitate compliance with all Accounting Principles and Audits

  • Ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a timely basis each month and any reconciling items cleared/explained.
  • • Ensuring that month-end is performed timely for all UK Dorsett entities
  • Ensuring that successfully implement of ERP Oracle system in all UK subsidiaries
  • Assist and counsel department heads in the interpretation and analysis of financial data, recommending courses of action to maximize hotel profitability
  • Assist in the Preparation of annual plan, projections and budgets
  • Monitor and develop the finance team members performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
  • Assist the Area Finance Director in recruiting, interviewing and training the Finance team members
  • Be responsible for all HMRC related activities such as Corporation tax, PAYE, VAT and others
  • Assist in the external audit information provision to ensure that the annual audit process and semi-annual review process are completed on a timely basis
  • Ensuring Internal Audit recommendations are implemented on a timely basis.
  • Assist the Area Finance Director handle the loan financing, valuation, M&A project and tax planning
  • Ad hoc projects assigned by Area Director of Finance
  • Be flexible with work location as the incumbent may be required to travel to different hotel locations from time to time.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

Preferred: 8+ years relevant and progressive work experience in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years in managerial position

  • Preferred working experience in hotel and property industry
  • Ability to analyze large volume of complex financial information from many sources and create reports, forecasts, and projections
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate
  • Ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems
  • Ability to help develop problem solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate
  • Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for team to fulfill responsibilities
  • Ability to manage and develop staff
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to develop presentations and effectively present to all levels of company.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills (all levels of management and external customers)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to quickly learn new programs when required
  • Familiar with UK accounting standard and tax regulation

Additional preferences:

University degree in Accounting or Finance Experience in Oracle Fusion is desirable

Quallfy Accountant of ACCA or other equivalent professional body
