Interim Financial Controller

We are excited to announce a fantastic job opportunity with our client, a renowned consumer brand in the West Midlands going through a period of change. They are looking to hire an experienced Interim Financial Controller for a 12-month contract.

The role will involve supporting the Finance Director in overseeing and driving ongoing improvements in financial reporting, processes, and controls. It also includes providing crucial analysis to the Group and the board. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong financial skills and critical thinking.

Location: West Midlands (2-3 days p/w onsite)

Contract length: 12 months

Candidate Rate: £600-£650 per day (outside IR35)

Start Date: September

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Financial Controller

  • Lead the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant accounting standards
  • Manage and mentor a team of financial professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure the organisation's compliance with reporting requirements, including the implementation of new accounting standards
  • Coordinate financial audits and examinations by internal and external auditors, ensuring a smooth and efficient process
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance financial reporting processes and controls to optimise efficiency and accuracy
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies related to financial reporting and compliance
  • Effectively communicate financial results and insights to internal and external stakeholders, including investors and regulatory bodies

Essential Requirements of the Interim Financial Controller

  • Fully qualified in either ACCA or ACA
  • Exposure to working in or auditing a listed or large corporation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Comfortable in leading and delivering change/transformation projects
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities
