Job Title: Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Technician

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Technician to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for servicing fire alarm and emergency lighting systems. Your day-to-day tasks will include responding to maintenance calls, troubleshooting faults, and restoring non-functioning fire alarms to their original functionality. If necessary, you will also carry out replacements and upgrades.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Undertaking system and device upgrades/modifications and preparing detailed reports at each service location.
- Completing all necessary paperwork documenting work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
Qualities Required:
The ideal candidate will possess experience with various fire alarm systems from manufacturers such as GENT, Kentec, CTEC, Morley, Advanced Electronics, Ziton, Hochiki, Apollo, and Xtralis.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of fire protection experience.
- Demonstrated background in maintenance or testing of fire alarm systems.
- Basic computer skills.
- IPAF and CSCS certification.
- Familiarity with standards BS5839-1, BS5839-6, and BS5266.
- Experience in fire alarm installation and repair.
- Competence in cause-and-effect programming.
