Location: Glasgow or Perth

Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Commercial and Innovation Accountant will have key responsibilities relating to Innovation reporting, Commercial accounting and input into the Regulatory Business Plan and Annual regulatory reporting submissions.

This is a varied, flexible, and challenging role with primary responsibilities amongst the following:

  • Supporting the production and submission of the Transmission Regulatory Business Plan (RIIO-T3), making sure we have robust metrics and assumptions in order to secure allowances from OFGEM to support our Net Zero targets as well as reporting in the RIIO- T2 price control period.
  • Support Regulatory Reporting Pack (RRP) activities in the team including collation of Business Support and Closely Associated Indirect (BSC / CAI) costs.
  • Ownership of month end activities relating to Innovation, including all journal postings, accruals and monitoring NIA, SIF and other innovation project types.
  • Work with our Regulatory and Commercial finance team to set Charging Methodology rates for the year ahead.
  • Enhance reporting and analysis of Directly Remunerated Items, as well as supporting with documenting controls in this area.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • An appropriate accounting qualification (ICAS/ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA) in an equivalent role.
  • Be proficient in MS Office applications with an advanced knowledge of Excel and be highly numerate with strong analytical skills as well as knowledge of core financial systems (Oracle desirable) and general accounting procedures.
  • Be pro-active and diligent in approach and be able to work to tight timescales and deliver to a high standard.
  • Financial controls and process documentation and improvement experience.
  • Previous experience of working in a Regulatory environment desirable.
