Adecco Manchester are pleased to be recruiting for a Skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a prestigious Engineering business based in Middleton, Manchester.

As a Mechanical Fitter you will join the assembly team responsible for the assembly and testing of specialist products.

  • Monday-Friday
  • Rotating shifts of 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm
  • No weekends or night shifts
  • Overtime available
  • £33,000 per annum
  • 15% shift allowance

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble Equipment: Assemble equipment in compliance with company procedures.
  • Component Fitting: Fit components and modules as per engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with colleagues during the build and installation process to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Conduct Tests: Perform production tests following established procedures and accurately complete test reports.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all assembled components are fit for purpose and meet quality standards.
  • Operate Tools Safely: Use machines, hand tools, and power tools safely to secure parts in place.
  • Maintain Safety Standards: Operate equipment safely, ensuring products conform to quality specifications.
  • Document Work: Record all work carried out for tracking and accountability purposes.

In terms of qualifications, our client is looking for candidates with an apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, equivalent to either City and Guilds Level 3, or NVQ Level 3. HNC/HND qualification with a Mechanical Engineering bias is also desirable. We are happy to speak to people who have begun these qualifications, but may require support to finish them.

Experience with pumps and waste water product assemblies, as well as mechanical seal knowledge, is highly valued. If you have extensive experience with PC pumps and waste water products, preferably within a service background, that would be a plus.
