Hays are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Production Specialist to join our client on an ongoing long term temporary assignment for an approximate duration of 12 months.
Location: Oxford
Assignment type: Temporary, ongoing basis where you will be engaged via Hays

Working environment: Office based
Hours per week: 37 (Monday - Thursday half day on Fridays)
Pay type: Competitive hourly pay rate
As the Production Specialist your primary responsibility will be supporting the area teams by leading transformation activities and facilitating improvements.

You will be responsible for the optimisation of processes within existing production systems to meet requirements.
You will also be responsible for the introduction and development of shop floor processes which are delivered in a structured VPS approach setting a centralised standard.
Focusing on problem resolution, you will support the production team with the solution of problems to increase production efficiency, reliability and stability.
Part of your remit will include developing and implementing measures to improve stability and reliability and ensure standards are implemented and up to date.

VPS activities are an important part of the role, as such you will provide organisation and functional guidance of VPS activities and the production team to ensure the required standards are achieved.

You will also demonstrate responsibility and independence by selecting appropriate solutions in line with VPS guidelines and reference models.
What you'll need to succeed -

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in appropriate discipline with related experience.
  • Possessing a standard PSP qualification is beneficial.
  • A sound knowledge of manufacturing including assembly techniques, problem solving skills and project planning.
  • Proven ability and previous experience of leading projects combined with an capability to mentor new members within the Production Specialist team is advantageous.
  • An aptitude for selling concepts to internal and external international partners and communicating technical solutions effectively is important.
