We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Maths Tutor to join our team in Rotherham. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a significant impact in the educational lives of young people, particularly those who have faced challenges in mainstream settings. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Begin your day by collecting students on your way to work.
  • Conduct morning check-ins and provide a settling in period with breakfast.
  • Teach Maths for 2-4 hours a day, focusing on engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Support learners in other lessons when not teaching.
  • Drop learners home around 3:30 pm and return to the site for team meetings, marking, planning, and updating learner and EHCP targets.
  • Every two weeks, dedicate a full day to administrative duties, planning, and marking.
  • Participate in bi-weekly activities to increase learner engagement and participation, such as graffiti workshops, trampolining, and nature walks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in teaching, plus a Level 3 in a subject related to Maths, or willingness to undertake CPD to achieve this.
  • Supportive and nurturing approach with a strong ability to engage learners who may be disengaged or struggle to see the value in their education.
  • Must own a car with business insurance and be willing to carry out student pick-ups and drop-offs (mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile).
