I am looking to recruit for a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in Nelson. They are seeking a passionate and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their Year 5 team to cover a maternity leave from January 2025 until the end of the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education to Year 5 students.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them to achieve their learning goals.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
- Supervise students during break times and on school trips.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for all students.
Requirements:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working with primary school children, preferably in Year 5.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
