We are looking to expand our team in Butterflies Class - our social communication department. Butterflies is a specialist provision based in our school for children with Autism and/or Social Communication Difficulties, all the students have Education, Health and Care Plans as their needs are long term. We are looking for someone special who shares our vision and ethos to join our amazing team.

We are looking for people who:

  • Have experience of supporting children in primary education
  • Are friendly, approachable, pro-active and collaborative
  • Believe in the inclusion for all and is able to implement strategies to support children with SEND
  • Have experience in the use of visual strategies to support children with communication needs
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies and motivate children to learn and enjoy school

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people, who are able to engage with our students. You will be working alongside other teaching assistants so you must be able to work in a team. It is essential that the successful candidate is able to communicate clearly in a calm and respectful manner, be reliable and trustworthy and work within the school's policies, including safeguarding and child protection.

Charles Warren Academy opened on 1st September 2012 and is sponsored by Academies Enterprise Trust (AET). Our school is situated in the beautiful area of Simpson, surrounded by trees and bordering the canal. We cater for children aged 4-11 years old and we have high expectations for all with an inclusive outlook.
