Business Development Manager

GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with an established telecommunications company serving Military, Government, Transport and Utility markets. The company is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to enhance an already strong and competent team with varying specialisms.

The role is a full time, permanent position working 37 hours per week at their Gloucester office.

The company is offering a competitive salary of up to £40,000 plus additional commission structure disclosed in interview, company Car Allowance, Laptop and Mobile phone.

The successful candidate will be someone who can identify new business opportunities through utilising market trends, Build long standing partnerships within the telecoms sector, Quantify network operator projects and close sales orders from network operators.

Business Development Manager Duties:

  • Identify and quantify business sectors for broadband, utilities, government/defence along with direct and indirect sell including system integrators.
  • Search potential market areas for telecom opportunities.
  • Present the client's telecommunication solutions to potential users.
  • Proactively present the client's value proposition.
  • Attend industry events & conferences to network & promote products & the business.
  • Build relationships & stay up to date with new products and technologies.
  • Creating sales forecasts & actively work towards reaching them and presenting sales information to the Senior Management Team.
  • Active participation in completion of Tender applications received into the business.
  • Deliver in person & online Sales presentations with prospective & existing customers.
  • Work alongside our engineering team to find resolutions and solutions for all new and existing customers.

Business Development Manager Required skills and experience:

  • Management Experience/bachelor's degree in marketing, Accounting, Finance, Business management or Business Administration/Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Business: Sales & Marketing, Level 3 award in Sales Management.
  • 5+ years of proven experience of working in the Telecoms sector.
  • Comfortable engaging with both customers and suppliers to generate new business.
  • Experience using Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Hold or previously held any telecommunications-related courses/qualifications.
