Description

In this role, you will support the head of the department in driving the compliance function forward ensuring that the business delivers and adheres to objectives and to internal / external policies and procedures:

  • Oversee a small compliance team ensuring they have an excellent understanding of risk and compliance, and that there is ongoing assurance of the relevant group policies and standards
  • Ensure that robust processes and controls are in place to prevent breaches and incidents
  • Provide guidance and oversight, and challenge the business in the application of risk and compliance with policies
  • Work with the wider business to ensure risks and control are identified, validated and documented
  • Provide advice and guidance and challenge to the business in the relevant areas, assessing risk and controls
  • Communicating and updating all business areas on regulatory updates, changes
  • Acting as a point of contact or escalation regards to risk and compliance queries
  • Maintaining second line oversight of first line defence controls with regards to QA, complaints, training and other areas
  • Compliance monitoring and taking the lead on all testing
  • Providing risk, regulatory and compliance support to ensure all projects are compliant
  • Second line oversight and reporting on breaches and incidents
  • Preparing relevant MI to find gaps in compliance issues and carrying out relevant analysis to help identify and resolve these issues

Profile

As Compliance Manager, you must have:

  • Experience working in a management level, compliance based role within financial services
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills ideally
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship building skills, and not afraid to challenge stakeholders
  • Experience of taking the lead in project
  • Strong regulatory knowledge and experience working in a regulated environment eg. FCA, CONC etc
  • Well organised, forward thinking and eye for detail
