Salary: to £50,000 (plus joining bonus payable after probabtion). OTE to £57,500.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead all business issues related to Health & Safety (H&S) and provide expert advice to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Policy Development: Spearhead the creation, maintenance, and implementation of H&S policies and procedures, ensuring best practices are always followed.
- Cultural Promotion: Support the Senior Leadership Team in fostering a positive H&S culture throughout the organization.
- Performance Management: Oversee and report on H&S performance metrics to the board, analyze data, and recommend strategic improvements.
- Continuous Improvement: Advise on fostering a learning organization mindset by analyzing incidents and positive interventions to drive ongoing improvements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure H&S regulatory and procedural compliance within the UK.
- Incident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations of incidents to identify root causes and implement lessons learned for continuous operational improvements.
- Operational Support: Conduct regular site visits to support operational teams, embedding company values and building strong relationships.
- Mentorship: Provide mentorship on H&S matters to staff at all levels, fostering a knowledgeable and safety-focused workforce.
- Training Guidance: Advise management on training requirements for all levels of the business to ensure comprehensive H&S education.
- Project Support: Offer ongoing support to project teams, ensuring H&S considerations are integrated into all activities.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate effectively with clients and supply chain partners on H&S matters, ensuring collaborative and safe practices.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Professional Certification: NEBOSH Diploma or working towards Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH).
- Management Experience: Proven experience in managing Health and Safety at a senior level.
- Credibility and Gravitas: Ability to advise senior management on urgent H&S issues and drive necessary actions with authority and persistence.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to form effective relationships under pressure.
- Stakeholder Management: Competence in managing relationships with stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes in challenging situations.
- Innovative Mindset: A continuous desire to innovate and improve safety culture and practices within the organization.

The ideal candidate must have strong credentials, including NEBOSH Diploma qualification or a willingness to work toward this in post, along with ISO Lead Auditor certification or willingness to work toward this in post. Demonstrative experience across a broad health and safety remit and excellent communication skills, able to work collaboratively with colleagues and build strong relationships to gain buy-in.
