About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with students aged 16 and over in a college setting. This role is focused on helping students develop essential life skills and providing the support they need to achieve their full potential.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with individual students who require additional support due to their special educational needs. You will play a crucial role in their educational journey, helping them navigate daily challenges and empowering them to gain independence. This is a full-time position through Career Teachers Agency, offering the opportunity to make a lasting difference in students' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to students with special educational needs, tailored to their individual learning plans.
- Assist students in developing life skills such as communication, social interaction, and daily living tasks.
- Support students in the classroom, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and are fully engaged in their learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and report on students' progress, adapting support strategies as needed.
- Encourage students to build confidence, independence, and self-esteem.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those aged 16 and over.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build rapport with students and support their emotional well-being.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive and adaptable attitude, able to respond to the unique needs of each student.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
