Looking to expand the team with an initial 6-month fixed term contractor to carry out a critical role across the business.
Role Summary:
The "financial compliance officer" or "Expense & Budgeting Accountant" will be responsible for ensuring each individual event is diligently monitored from a financial perspective. You will business partner with multiple account mangers ensure expenses are appropriately spent and closely managing actuals vs budget.

3 days in the London office / occasional travel (1-2 day per month) to Kent office.
Responsibilities:

Event Budget Management:

Work alongside finance and account managers to understand and establish future spend for each individual event.

Collect costs and spend, constantly maintaining the expense database.

Monitor and analyse event expenses against pre-determined budgets.

Partner with account managers to understand and challenge overspending and underspending.

Collaborate with account managers to adjust budgets as needed.

Perform regular variance analysis (actual vs. budget) for events.

Financial Compliance:

Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations, including AML and KYC procedures.

Develop and implement internal financial control procedures specific to event budgets.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial compliance activities related to event budgets.

Payments:

Authorise payments for event-related expenses within designated limits.

Liaise with finance team for processing payments above set limits.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 year's experience in a finance & accounting role.
- Proven experience with expenses, budgeting and actuals vs budgeting.
- Previous experience in an events/production industry is a plus (not essential)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. (Investigative mindset).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with account managers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is essential) and experience with accounting software (Sage 200 a plus).
