Senior DevOps Engineer (Nomad, CLI, HashiCorp, Kubernetes) - Banking - London

Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong background in Nomad and HashiCorp tools to join their team on a 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects within a dynamic banking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automate the provisioning and management of Nomad clusters using the CLI and Unix-based systems.
- Write and manage deployment manifests using HashiCorp Configuration Language (HCL).
- Provision and manage multi-zonal, regional Nomad clusters with robust access control for users and service accounts.
- Install and configure Consul on Nomad clusters.
- Set up workload identity federation for Google Cloud service authentication.
- Collaborate on Kubernetes-related projects, integrating Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Extensive hands-on experience with Nomad Command-Line Interface (CLI).
- Strong understanding of Unix-based systems for cluster automation.
- Proven expertise in configuring Nomad and managing task deployments with HCL.
- Experience provisioning multi-zonal Nomad clusters and configuring access controls.
- Solid experience with Consul integration on Nomad.
- Ability to implement workload identity federation for Google Cloud authentication.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD workflows.
- Proficiency with GCP Services, including Cloud Functions, BigQuery, and GKE.
- Programming skills in Python.
