Location: Cardiff

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum basic

Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Technical Advisor on behalf of one of our clients. The successful candidate will provide technical support and assistance to the Sales department and customers. Other aspects include assisting in preparation and filing of standard technical documents and CAD drawings; assisting in product testing programs; and assisting in continuous improvement of technical service and customer experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To support the sale of products through the dissemination of technical information.
  • To provide robust technical advice and solutions to design related problems relative to the product range.
  • To conduct in depth calculation and qualification of the suitability of products for use.
  • To correctly specify products by application.
  • Technical approval of drawing submittals.
  • Development ideas for service/product improvement (based on customer feedback).
  • Creation of technical documents and drawings for internal and customer use.
  • Enhancement of the existing library of NBS specifications, CAD and Revit drawings.
  • Continuous improvement activities for Technical Support.
  • Issues arising relating to site practice.
  • Responsible for following all company procedures and policies in line with our compliance management system and to report any concerns of non-compliance immediately.
  • Responsibility for taking reasonable care of yourself and others who may be affected by your actions or omissions. You must follow all instructions and training given to you and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures at all times.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Computer literacy including Autodesk software.
  • Experience working with Revit, Inventor & Fusion 360 is preferred.
  • Good understanding of mathematical/structural principles.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Suitable previous experience in communicating technical information to a customer base will be considered as well as formal certification.
  • Degree, HNC or HND in Design, Architectural Technology, an Engineering discipline or construction allied curriculum (desirable).
