EYFS Teaching Assistant

Our Primary School in Blackpool needs a EYFS TA, Monday - Friday Until Christmas and beyond, the role is open ended and potentially until July 2025. The hours are 8:15 - 3:45 ideally, with a 16:30pm finish on a Monday due to a team meeting. Pay for this role starts at £13.50 per hour and will be re reviewed in April with minimum wage increases. We are ideally seeking someone with EYFS or nursery experience who is happy to work in and out of the class on school grounds and participate in welly puddle splashes, the mud kitchen, crafts and preparation of Christmas activities! Ideally you will be L2 or L3 qualified.

This school has great transportation routes with a bus stop directly outside and an accessible school car park and local parking options allowing a safe and easy commute. The school boasts an inclusive and supportive environment, which also includes a SURF provision attached for SEND students.. Responsibilites:

  • To provide in-class support for either the whole class, identified individual students or small groups of students (e.g. 4-5 students).
  • To work with children ages 3-5.
  • Setup and support continuous provision.
  • Work inside the EYFS guidelines.
  • Under the direction of a class teacher, SENCO, to develop and lead small group work.
  • Under the direction of the class teacher, to assist and support in upholding standards of behaviour across the class.
  • To assist in delivering and producing teaching and learning materials for students, including differentiating the materials.
  • To provide regular feedback to the class teacher and to the SENDCo or the relevant line manager.
  • To support the teacher with setting up the class including the daily activities, ensuring that continuous provision is available, display boards, managing pupil journals and work books etc.

Essential requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications (L2/3 TA etc.)
  • High knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
  • Classroom experience.
  • Two references from the last 5 years (1 must be a full child-based safeguarding reference)
