Financial Accountant role in the retail industry, based in Hertford. The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA) and will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Description:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure financial reporting is accurate and completed in a timely manner in compliance with UK GAAP and other relevant standards.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, and analysis of variances.
- Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors during the audit process.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Support the annual budget preparation and provide insightful analysis of key financial metrics.
Profile
A successful Financial Accountant should have:
- A recognised qualification in accounting or finance - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Experience in preparing financial statements and management accounts.
- Proficiency in using financial software
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with non-finance departments.
