Nigel Wright is delighted to support a rapidly expanding enterprise-scale business in their search for an Infrastructure Specialist!

In this role, you will work closely with the ICT Infrastructure Manager, playing a key part in managing and delivering IT infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include ensuring strict adherence to ICT policies while meeting the evolving needs of the business.

  • Salary: £37,000 - £46,000
  • Location: Thornaby
  • Hybrid Working: Yes, 2 days on-site, 3 days from home
  • Working Hours: Monday – Friday, with an on-call rota approximately 1 week in 7

The Role

Your primary objective will be to maintain exceptional safety, availability, and reliability across all ICT systems by executing various tasks with efficiency and precision.

  • Drive the implementation, maintenance, and support of on-premises and cloud infrastructure systems to ensure peak performance and reliability.
  • Lead the monitoring and optimization of infrastructure platforms for maximum efficiency.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for seamless operations and innovation in ICT tools.
  • Identify areas for improvement and propose tailored solutions that uphold industry standards such as ITIL frameworks.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility through robust IT continuity plans and advanced technologies.
  • Collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams for swift issue resolution and operational enhancements.
  • Act as the go-to expert for resolving complex incidents.
  • Align your actions with business goals to maximize impact.
  • Communicate service outages accurately to minimize user disruption.
  • Work closely with project management and virtual teams to integrate solutions seamlessly.
  • Manage group policies to maintain a secure IT environment.
  • Build strong relationships with third-party partners to ensure top-tier service delivery.
  • Stay updated with training and new processes to remain at the cutting edge.
  • Take ownership of tasks with enthusiasm and efficiency.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Proven success in infrastructure support and engineering roles.
  • Experience with virtualization and VMWare technologies.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy Objects (GPO).
  • Skilled in SAN/Storage provisioning and management.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, performance optimization, and cost management tools.
  • Competence in Microsoft SQL Server Administration.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
