Supply Chain Planner

My client is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Planner who will provide development of the Supply Chain planning processes, our SAP system, and planning activities to ensure that the necessary stock levels, delivery performance, and cost targets are achieved.

Data preparation, process control, and planning will form an integral part of the role, but as an SME, and subsidiary of a larger group the successful candidate must be able to be counted on as a hands-on member of the Supply Chain Team.

Based in Kingswinford with excellent public transport connections, this role is Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5.15 pm and Friday 8.30 am to 1.15 pm, this role is Hybrid 2/3 days in the office, and the salary is competitive.

Full-time, Permanent role.

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all aspects of materials supply into the business
  • Analysis of forecast compared to current and previous sales history
  • Discussion of any differences in forecast compared to historical sales with Sales Team and agreement to any amendments
  • Creating purchase orders for re-ordering product from all suppliers, taking into consideration lead-times and forecast requirements, to achieve target inventory and rotation budgets
  • Purchasing and expediting SKUs according to sales forecasts and budgeted inventory parameters
  • Taking responsibility for all supplier communications
  • Liaising with freight forwarders, processing relevant paperwork and updating SAP and staff promptly of any shipment changes
  • Analysing inventory and controlling stock levels to maximise sales while meeting business objectives
  • Investigating and performing cost-down activities throughout the supply chain
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities to improve purchasing procedures and increase efficiency

You will need to:

  • Have a CIPS qualification or are working towards one
  • Have strong administration skills, including advanced Excel Skills
  • Are competent at interpreting statistics into a report format
  • Have demonstrable SAP experience
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Appreciate and have experience in the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage projects independently
  • Are methodical in your approach to planning and execution, with a fine eye for detail.
  • Are a tenacious individual, determined to succeed, and able to work with minimal supervision
