Our Family Safeguarding Teams are pioneering a model of social work that is transforming how we approach Child Protection and Child in Need cases. These multi-disciplinary teams consist of professionals from children's and adult social work, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, substance misuse, and mental health services, all working together to address the root causes of risk within families. This innovative approach allows us to keep more children safe at home with their families.

About the Role

We are looking for experienced Social Workers to join our forward-thinking Family Safeguarding Teams. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in managing complex cases, leading multi-agency collaboration, and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse and complex caseload within Child Protection, Child in Need, and care proceedings.
  • Lead and support a multi-disciplinary team, sharing expertise across various specialisms.
  • Work with families to identify and implement sustainable changes that ensure the safety and wellbeing of their children.
  • Participate in and lead team meetings, supervision sessions, and ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of social work practice within the team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications: A recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience, with significant frontline experience in safeguarding, care planning, or multi-disciplinary team work.
  • Skills: Strong communication, assessment, and case management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft IT packages is essential.
  • Legal Knowledge: An in-depth understanding of relevant childcare legislation and policy.
  • Driving Requirements: A full UK driving licence and regular access to a vehicle for work purposes.
