Trustee
We have an exciting opportunity for a new Trustee to join an incredibly committed and experienced board of Trustees. We're looking for people who have a keen interest in developing thriving communities and offering great places to live.
Position: Trustee
Salary: This is a voluntary role however reasonable expenses will be paid
Location: North East
Time commitment: Board meetings take place four times a year and can be attended virtually via teams or in person. There is one strategy planning day a year which must be attended in person.
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity with a not-for-profit provider for affordable homes based in Gateshead with charitable status. They own over 300 homes for affordable rent, rent to buy and shared ownership, and have aspirations to develop more homes for affordable use within the Borough of Gateshead.
Their priorities focus on delivering an excellent service to our customers, providing quality affordable homes, and ensuring we remain financially strong and well governed. As a Trustee, you will be responsible for governing the organisation and directing how it is managed and run.
About you:
In order to enhance the collective skills on the existing board, the ideal candidate would have knowledge and experience of one or more of the following areas:
- Customer regulation, public/community relations and general needs of tenants/leaseholders
- Commercial activity and knowledge of private developers
- Corporate governance
- Legal
- Equal opportunities
- Finance and treasury
The ideal candidate will enjoy contributing ideas to inspire overall strategic direction of the company, while also offering suggestions to improve how services are delivered – constructive scrutiny is encouraged and challenge to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
