Aston University is recruiting to this role in the Procurement Team, which is part of the Finance Department. Reporting to the Head of Procurement and Insurance, the role is a great opportunity to further your career in procurement and contribute to the development of the University's procurement function.

You will carry out procurement activity for the University, including running quotation/tendering processes from start to finish, strategic contract management, whilst ensuring compliance with the University's finance and procurement policies and regulations and ensuring best practice and value for money principles are upheld, maximising commercial and social value/sustainability benefits to the University.

We are looking for candidates with procurement experience, ideally including some public sector experience. You will have the ability to develop working relationships with key stakeholders across the University and a 'can-do' attitude, and experience of delivering savings, negotiation and contract management. Ideally, you will have (or be working towards) a CIPS qualification or similar.

Appointments to Category Manager or Procurement Officer based on skills and experience with opportunity for progression from Procurement Officer to Category Manager dependent on experience and knowledge of the role.
