JG160 – Operations Manager

Salary: £32,000 - £38,000
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently supporting a client in the search for an Operations Manager.
The client is a small family-owned business in Cranleigh, offering specialist plant hire and transportation services. This role would require someone to oversee day-to-day operations at the office, working 0700 – 1700 Mon-Fri.
Experience / knowledge of the plant and transport industries would be highly desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build working relationships with co-workers, third party suppliers and clients.
- Arrange daily work schedules, servicing, MOTs, Tacho-tests etc.
- Encourage drivers in the completion of their work to meet tight schedules.
- Understand workforce's skills to determine the best way to meet client requirements.
- Price chargeable works, haulage jobs & ad hoc hire work, including making site visits when required.
- Deal with paperwork, phone calls and email enquiries
- Ensure smooth completion of repairs to the hire fleet, from initial report, ordering parts & completion of repairs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous practical experience or understanding of heavy machinery &/or HGV's.
- Be a dynamic problem solver.
- Team player
- Convey an atmosphere of reliability & mutual trust with colleagues / clients.
- Act with a sense of purpose and personal agency
- Have the ability to juggle a variety of tasks.
- Driving Licence
