  • Job Type: Part-Time and Full Time (up to 35 hours available)
  • Location: Nailsea and Weston sites
  • Actual Starting Salary (39 working weeks): £19,315 (based on 35 hours per week, term time only + INSET)

We are excited to offer the opportunity to join our clients team within a specialist Academy, supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) issues. Our school is rapidly progressing and expanding, catering to students in years 5-11 with SEMH difficulties. We are seeking enthusiastic, resilient, and highly motivated Teaching Assistants/Mentors who are passionate about inclusive education.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Assist in the educational, personal, and social development of designated students under the direction and guidance of the Principal, SENCo, and class teachers.
  • Support students by adopting relevant strategies and techniques to enable them to access the curriculum and engage with their learning.
  • Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to students' responses.
  • Deliver measurable impact on student attainment as well as social and emotional well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to fulfil the requirements of the role.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Enthusiasm for and commitment to supporting young people with SEMH.
  • Resilience and motivation to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of each student.
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
