Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting environmental and building acoustic surveys, including noise impact assessments.
- Support senior consultants during site visits by setting up sound level meters, microphones, and vibration equipment.
- Undertake noise monitoring and data logging under supervision.
- Download, organise, and analyse acoustic data using specialist software and spreadsheets.
- Create basic figures, charts, and supporting documents for technical reports.
- Prepare draft reports and technical summaries for review by senior team members.
- Learn and adhere to relevant standards and guidance, such as BS 8233 and BS 4142.
- Maintain and calibrate acoustic equipment as directed.
- Participate in training and development programmes, including day-release study if pursuing a relevant qualification.
- Demonstrate a willingness to develop technical knowledge and understanding of acoustic principles.
Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
- No prior acoustic experience required, though it is desirable.
- Backgrounds in engineering, construction, or surveying are encouraged to apply.
