Location: Sherborne, Dorset

Salary: £28,000 - £40,000 per annum

Our client is a well-established Accredited Financial Planning Firm based in Sherborne. Over the last 20 years the company has grown by being fantastic at what they do, merging lifestyle planning with financial advice to really improve people's lives.

They work primarily with high-net-worth individuals, business owners and clients at/or approaching retirement. They coach their clients through the life and money decisions that they face. They have a unique financial planning process which delivers life changing results coupled with simplicity and peace of mind.

The Role

A Paraplanner at the company is a key link in the team. They work with the Financial Planner to ensure they have all the information and tools available to them to give the client the best financial planning service. They are also a stepping stone between the Planner and the Administration team, to ensure the recommendations in the client's financial plan are implemented correctly and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding the client's current financial situation and making proposals for their Planners.
  • Undertaking technical research and financial analysis to allow the Financial Planner to identify suitable solutions for the client.
  • Preparing and creating agendas for client meetings.
  • Attending client meetings and writing minutes.
  • Using cash flow modelling to prepare a lifestyle financial plan.
  • Answering technical questions for their Planners and their clients.
  • Preparing compliant and client friendly suitability letters.
  • Writing in-depth financial plans.
  • Working with the admin team to ensure recommendations are implemented.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experienced Paraplanner who holds, or is working towards a level 4 professional qualification such as the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
  • Good at problem solving.
  • Can undertake technical analytical work including cash flow forecasting and investment analysis.
  • Excellent and accurate report writing skills.
  • The ability to communicate complex information in a way which can be understood by a range of different people.
  • Paraplanners at the company manage their own client bank therefore it is vital that they are organised and can track workflow throughout the entire financial planning process.

Desirable:

  • Hold or have the ambition to gain level 6 qualifications.
