We are seeking a Music Teacher with a passion for educating young minds and fostering a love for music among students. This role involves teaching across KS3 and KS4, requiring a creative approach to delivering the curriculum and inspiring students in their musical journey.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver music lessons that engage and challenge students across KS3 and KS4.
- Encourage students' musical abilities and appreciation for music, catering to a range of interests and talents.
- Assess and record students' progress, providing feedback and support to foster their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music into a broader curriculum.
- Organise and direct school choirs, bands, or other musical groups, preparing them for performances or exams.
- Maintain a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning and creativity.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school functions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching music across KS3 and KS4.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and work constructively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Resilience, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
- Commitment to professional development and staying current with educational best practices.
