Independent Forgings and Alloys (IFA) is one of the UK's leading independent aerospace and industrial forgers. The unique feature about IFA is the combination of open and closed-die forging while also undertaking the whole production process from raw material to the finished product in one location. Operating from a 680 000ft2 facility in Sheffield, we manufacture high-integrity, open-die and closed-die forged components in nickel alloy, titanium, stainless steel and carbon alloys for customers and tier-one suppliers within the aerospace, nuclear, power generation, marine as well as oil and gas sector.

Joining us as a GFM Operative, you'll work on a rotational basis, opening furnace doors and tracking the work through the department. You'll use a forklift truck to take the bars from the furnace and place them onto the machine. You'll also be involved in bar cutting, off-loading, inspecting, and marking up bars, as well as taking bars to the stockyard.

Ideally we'd like our GFM Operative to have experience of working with hot metal and be trained / experienced on a FLT and OH Crane. Someone with confined space training is highly desirable, but this is by no means essential.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 06:00 - 13:00 (35 hours per week).
