Payroll and Benefits Manager

Our client, a prominent entity in the HR sector, is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Payroll and Benefits Manager to oversee and administer payroll and employee benefits effectively across multiple UK business units, ensuring compliance and enhancing employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly payroll operations for six UK payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and on-time payment.
  • Handle HMRC annual returns and ensure timely payments and effective benefit deductions management.
  • Resolve payroll queries and liaise with external parties such as HMRC and finance teams.
  • Manage ADP relationships and day-to-day interactions with benefits providers.
  • Ensure compliance with Data Protection Act 1998, GDPR, and other relevant legislation.
  • Generate and distribute management reports on payroll and benefits.
  • Update and maintain payroll records and ensure strict confidentiality of data.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven ability in managing end-to about-end payroll processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of UK payroll and benefits administration, including statutory filings such as P45s, P60s, and P11Ds.
  • Experience in multiple payroll management and familiarity with ADP iHCM considered an asset.
  • Adept at maintaining precise records and meeting all legislative, HMRC, and internal audit requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to plan and adapt to changes in payroll and benefits legislation.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Structured yet flexible approach to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Capable of engaging effectively with HR teams and managing relationships with benefits vendors.
