Accounts and Payroll Officer

An Accounts and Payroll Officer is required for a growing company based in Eastleigh, where you will be playing a key part in the day-to-day running of the finance department. This role comes with the opportunity to work closely with a range of stakeholders and is offered on a permanent basis.

You will offer vital support to the accounting and payroll processes in the company and join an organisation with strong values and a history of internal promotions (more than 80% of senior managers were promoted internally!) This Accounts and Payroll Officer role would suit someone who enjoys supporting and learning while working in an environment where no day is the same.

Reporting to the Finance Director you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting with the payroll processes
  • Acting as a key support for the finance team and operational side of the business, providing cover when needed
  • The fixed-asset register and monitoring of this
  • Fleet management and oversight of company vehicles
  • Credit control
  • Credit card reconciliations
  • Purchase ledger duties

What you will need:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as Accounts and Payroll Officer / Assistant Accountant / Payroll Assistant / Purchase Ledger Clerk / Sales Ledger Clerk / Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant
  • To be ambitious and adaptable, keen to work collaboratively
  • Working knowledge of Sage and Excel
