CREDIT CONTROLLER JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller, to join a thriving family run business, who are investing in innovative systems and processes, to support their ambitious growth plans.

The successful Credit Controller will report directly into the Finance Manager, and work alongside other Credit Controllers, and Finance Assistants within the team. Full on the job support and training will be provided, but our client is looking for a Credit Controller who is comfortable and confident in their experience to hit the ground running, given that they are very busy.

CREDIT CONTROLLER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a main point of contact for customer accounts queries, and liaise with internal departments and stakeholders on a daily basis
  • Hold weekly meetings with each division to ensure that they are aware of any credit control / finance issues that arise, and agree action plans to move forward, as required.
  • Daily updates and reconciliation to customer portals, ensuring that all activities are logged effectively
  • Review, manage and collect customer accounts, prioritising cash flow, whilst also minimising risk exposure / bad debt
  • Investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries promptly and effectively
  • Produce and distribute customer statements of accounts, arrears and overdue reminder letters - and follow up as required
  • Manage new accounts and high value funds
  • Build effective relationships with customers and internal contacts
  • Provide accounts support to the wider finance team, as required
  • Produce and circulate weekly / adhoc "on stop" / credit hold status reports, as required.

CREDIT CONTROLLER KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Previous experience in Credit Control position is essential for this role.
  • You need to be comfortable working in the office environment – given the nature of the role, and the internal crossover with so many departments, our client is looking for someone who is happy to be office based.
  • Knowledge and confidence of working across a variety of systems is important, as our client work with multiple in house / bespoke systems, in addition to Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Ability to work under pressure, with high volume workloads is essential.
  • Organised, efficient approach to work – essential.
  • You will be working as part of a team, and as such you will often cross over work schedules, so the ability to work as part of a team is also essential.
  • Good understanding of end-to-end distribution business processes from an accounts / finance perspective would be ideal.
  • A Logical and analytical mindset, with the ability to break down problems and draw reasonable conclusions based on analysis thereof.
