The Head of Relationship Management, EMEA at WEX International will lead the client relationship management team, focusing on maintaining and expanding relationships with key clients across the EMEA region.

Whilst this role will not have direct customer account responsibility, it involves leading the relationship management team to deliver strategic account management, client satisfaction, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality payment solutions that drive growth for the business.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong track record in relationship management within the payments or financial services industry, with a deep understanding of client needs and market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Client Relationship Management:

  • Lead the EMEA relationship management team, setting strategic direction and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives;
  • Manage a team of Senior Relationship Managers and Relationship Managers, mentoring the team, driving performance and succession plans, and ensuring the right mix of skills and experience;
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships, understanding client needs and delivering tailored solutions;
  • Drive account growth and retention strategies, identifying opportunities for expansion and cross-selling;
  • Collaborate with product and operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction;
  • Represent WEX International at industry events and forums, enhancing brand visibility and client engagement;
  • Manage and develop a high-performing, customer-centric relationship management function, including driving a strategic account planning process for Tier-1 customers that develops mutually beneficial performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones for short, medium, and longer term; and
  • Assess, clarify, and validate customer needs; champion solution development efforts across the WEX organisation; and solve key customer problems, clearing major roadblocks and providing an escalation path, e.g., for deal negotiations.

Skills & Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in relationship management or account management, preferably within the payments or financial services industry.
  • Proven outstanding leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage key client relationships and achieve business growth targets.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage at all levels within client organisations.
  • Deep knowledge of the payments industry, with a focus on corporate payments and solutions.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic and competitive market environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Fluency in English and one other European language is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the EMEA region.
