Our client is a leading manufacturing company with a target turnover of over £40M this year. They are on a mission to exceed there customers' demands and deliver high-quality bespoke products. There manufacturing processes demand a responsive and flexible approach to planning.

As the Production Planning Manager, you will oversee capacity planning for both assets and labour, ensuring that the necessary skills are in place to meet demand. You will collaborate closely with the procurement and finance teams to align resources effectively. Your responsibilities will include production scheduling across multiple sites and assets, optimizing operations while adhering to lean manufacturing principles.

Key responsibilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively concisely and with clarity at Board and shopfloor level.
  • Ability to manage risk, present solutions, think outside the box with a can-do attitude
  • Drive the understanding and need for plan adherence as well as plan attainment on a short interval basis that are aligned to meeting the businesses periodical objectives
  • Lead the development and implementation of a business S&OP process across multi sites
  • Develop and implement detailed production schedules to meet customer demands and improve manufacturing efficiency while adhering to lean manufacturing principles.
  • Work with procurement to ensure prompt availability of raw materials and components.
  • Analyse production specifications and plant capacity data to decide manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive manufacturing experience
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other CI methodologies. Ability to find bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Ability in creating and managing production schedules, considering lead times, capacity constraints, and resource availability. Experience with demand forecasting, production levelling, and just-in-time (JIT) principles.
  • Inventory Management
  • Systems and Software: Ability in using production planning software (MRP systems, ERP platforms).

Shifts & Benefits Package:

  • Shift:- Monday to Friday Days
  • Salary:- £48,000 to £52,000 DOE
  • Benefits:- Pension 4% employer and 5% employee, 25 Days Holiday
