Reed is working with a community, non-faith school in North Surrey whose values are shared by all staff and students. Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality RE lessons that align with the national curriculum and cater to the needs and abilities of students.
- Teach a range of RE subjects,
- Engage students in the exploration of RE, fostering their critical analysis, interpretation, and appreciation of diverse genres and authors.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technology to engage students in interactive and stimulating learning experiences.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and guide their development towards achieving language and literacy targets.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting equality, diversity, and mutual respect among students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development of the RE curriculum, schemes of work, and assessment practices.
- Engage with parents, students, and other stakeholders to communicate student progress, achievements, and extracurricular opportunities related to English language and literature.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in RE or a related field.
- Proven experience as an RE teacher in a secondary school, with a strong track record of student achievement and engagement.
- Thorough knowledge of the national curriculum requirements for RE and familiarity with examination board specifications.
- Excellent command of the RE language, with exemplary communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for RE education, literature, and language development, and the ability to inspire students' love for reading, writing, and communication.
- Strong understanding of teaching methodologies, assessment practices, and the use of technology in RE education.
- Creative and innovative approach to lesson planning and delivery, incorporating a variety of teaching techniques to meet diverse learning styles.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that values student voice, encourages critical thinking, and fosters a love for literature.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage resources effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
