MET Technician

An automotive business is searching the market for an MET Technician to join the team operating in the Waltham Cross area. Offering a wide range of services and options for their extensive client base located all across the country, this highly successful business has been providing the highly quality services for their customers for years, and is seeking someone to join the team to continue this high standard of work and help them to grow further as a business.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Recognising and reporting on vehicle structure and paintwork
  • Making sure that all vehicles comply against safety standards before being deployed back to customers and making a note of any faults on the job card
  • Removing and safely storing components for vehicles, gases and fluids, as well as disposing of these as directed
  • Putting vehicles back together after repair work has been completed in a safe manner, ensuring quality is of top priority and noting down any red readings on the job card
  • 4-wheel alignment as directed
  • Ensuring quality control across all repair work, getting final stage sign off and noting down all non-stripped items on the job card
  • Reporting defects and faults that are found while undertaking work on the vehicle
  • Ensuring that equipment and tools are looed after and that they work to needed requirements, reporting any faulty items through the correct channels
  • Ensuring the repair methods is within the job pack, is fully understood and displayed alongside the vehicle at all times
  • Checking vehicles for warning lights and other safety alerts and logging anything that comes up on the job card
  • Disposing of old parts that cannot be reused, whilst ensuring that reusable items are stored correctly
  • Torque all safety critical bolts, entering details in the correct log

What you will need to Apply:

The ideal candidate for this role will have relevant auto-electrical qualifications and have a minimum of 5 years' experience working in roles relating to the body repair of vehicles. Knowledge of computerised alignment systems is highly desired, alongside knowledge of suspension. Aircon recognised training and an encapsulated glass recognised qualification are also sought after. A full drivers license for the UK is needed too.
