Import Merchandiser

This is a great opportunity to join my client, a supplier of beautiful childrenswear to High Street retailers and Boutiques in a full time Import Merchandiser role.
Working with factories in China you will be allocated customers to merchandise from placement of orders up to shipment of bulk and will be responsible for maintaining critical paths, approving lab dips, trims, fabrics, samples etc.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Liaise with various Far East factories chasing initial & seal samples and maintaining critical paths
- Providing all barcode/SKU information to the factory's for ordering of the labels.
- Receiving Purchase orders from the customer, checking the information and raising PO's to the Factory using our bespoke database programme.
- Chase the customer to ensure we have size breakdowns and barcode details to ensure CP dates are maintained
- Check samples and pass to the relevant garment technologist for measure and submission.
- Work Closely with the Garment Technologists and Account Manager to ensure the smooth running of the account.
- Ensure the critical path dates do not slip and regular liaison with the factory to check dates are on schedule.
- Receiving and logging incoming lab dips/trims/labels, checking and submitting to the customer for approval or rejecting in house and liaising with the factory for re-submissions.
- Chasing customers for approval of trims/lab dips/fabrics in order to maintain the critical path.
- Updating Critical paths and sent to the customer as and when requested
- Process Shipping Documents and check quantity ordered is within tolerance.
- Receipt and Despatch on the Database and pass the details on to Finance Department for invoicing of the goods.
- Send invoice, packing list and shipping paperwork to the customer via email.
- Use of Database, Word, Excel
The successful candidate will be experienced in a similar role ideally in an Importer. You will have experience of dealing with a Far East supply base with in-depth knowledge of the critical path. Excellent communication skills are a pre-requisite
