Cleaning Supervisor

We are looking for a proactive Cleaning Supervisor to oversee the cleaning staff at a designated location. The successful candidate will ensure that our cleaning service meets the agreed standards and that our premises are maintained to the highest level of cleanliness.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Plan, organise, and control the work of cleaning staff to meet the required standards, including undertaking cleaning duties personally as needed.
  • Conduct induction and skills training for staff, including refresher courses in line with organisational practices.
  • Liaise with building managers or authorised personnel on day-to-day cleaning-related issues.
  • Investigate and address complaints regarding cleaning services, taking corrective action and advising the line manager as appropriate.
  • Manage supplies of materials and equipment within the allocated budget, ensuring they are used and stored correctly.
  • Monitor the performance of cleaning materials and equipment, recommending changes to improve efficiency and standards.
  • Allocate keys to cleaning staff and ensure their return at the end of each shift.
  • Plan periodic work in consultation with service users and report plans in advance of closures.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, holidays, and absences, ensuring all documentation is authorised and submitted on time.
  • Keep records of consumable stocks and equipment inventory.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in supervising cleaning staff and managing cleaning services.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, COSHH, and other legal requirements related to cleaning.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and control the work of a team effectively.
  • Good communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders and addressing complaints.
  • Competence in maintaining records and managing budgets for cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Willingness to undergo training and adapt to new procedures to improve service delivery.
