The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to intervene, promote social change, and provide appropriate information and advice to facilitate positive outcomes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as an officer of the Local Authority and execute statutory functions to safeguard individuals and promote positive outcomes in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Work in partnership with individuals, families, professionals, and agencies to develop holistic intervention plans and promote social change.
  • Intervene to safeguard individuals at risk of harm, abuse, or neglect, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Maximise the independence of individuals by providing support, guidance, and access to appropriate services and resources.
  • Provide individuals with accurate information and advice about third-sector and universal services available to support positive outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in statutory social work functions, including safeguarding and support.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to social work practice.
  • Commitment to promoting social change, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, and maximising independence.
