Are you a skilled professional with a passion for safety and efficiency in lifting operations? Our client are looking for a highly experienced Lifting Operations Appointed Person to join their team and play a crucial role in ensuring the success of projects.

Based in Widnes, Cheshire, WA8 – regular travel to various client sites

  • Full time Monday – Friday (8am – 5:30pm)
  • Permanent position
  • £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing all lifting operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and optimising operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed lifting plans and conduct comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Ensure all lifting operations comply with relevant health and safety legislation, standards, and guidelines.
  • Coordinate with crane operators, riggers, and site supervisors to execute lifting operations effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of lifting plans, risk assessments, and safety briefings.
  • Promptly address and resolve any issues that arise during lifting operations.
  • Travel to various client sites as required to oversee operations.

The Ideal Candidate

They are looking for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in lifting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industry standards and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will have:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction or heavy industry sectors.
  • CPCS Accredited Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) blue card.
  • In-depth understanding of lifting operations, equipment, and health and safety regulations.
  • Experience with Lifting/Slinging Operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of LOLER & BS7121 standards.
  • Proficiency in creating lift plans and method statements.
  • Experienced in using AutoCAD for lift planning.
