Salary: £72,000 - £85,000 (DOE) + Company car or cash allowance

We are currently seeking an experienced Head of Sales & Operations Planning to play a critical role in implementing and sustaining the S&OP process across our organisation.

Role Overview: The Head of Sales & Operations Planning will be responsible for leading the end-to-end sales and operations planning process, ensuring the alignment of sales, supply chain, finance, HR, and procurement functions. This role will act as a change agent, driving the adoption of the S&OP process, managing the execution of service level agreements and ensuring collaboration across multiple departments. The successful candidate will enable key decision-making processes and support the company's growth objectives by integrating Operations planning with long-term business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the S&OP strategy in alignment with the company's business objectives and growth targets. Lead cross-functional teams through the S&OP process, ensuring collaboration across sales, operations, finance, and supply chain.
  • Oversee demand forecasting and supply chain planning to ensure accurate predictions, efficient inventory management, and a balance between customer needs and production capacity. Facilitate decision-making processes within the S&OP framework to optimize business performance.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of demand planning, inventory management, and production scheduling. Leverage technology and data analytics to optimize S&OP outcomes.
  • Ensure alignment between Operations plans and financial goals, including revenue, margin, and cost management targets. Collaborate with finance teams to integrate sales forecasts and capacity planning into financial planning processes.
  • Act as a liaison between S&OP and senior leadership, translating strategic business objectives into actionable Operations plans. Facilitate regular S&OP meetings, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on priorities and business impacts.
  • Identify potential risks in the demand and supply process and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions. Regularly review market conditions, competitor strategies, and industry trends to adjust planning accordingly.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong ability to analyse complex data, forecast trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve business outcomes.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Expertise in demand forecasting, inventory management, and balancing supply with sales objectives to ensure Operations efficiency.
  • In-depth understanding of supply chain processes, logistics, production planning, and inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of financial metrics, budgeting, and cost management to align S&OP plans with financial objectives.
  • Ability to proactively identify challenges, develop effective solutions, and navigate fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and manage diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with S&OP and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced skills in Excel or other analytics tools.
  • Ability to lead process improvements, drive innovation, and manage organizational change initiatives.
