Anglian Water offers a flexible approach, this role provides you the flexibility to work from home and from an Anglian Water office. Your base location will be in Lincoln with an expectation of being in the office a minimum of 2 days a week.?

We currently have an exciting new position for a Platform Engineer joining our Modern Contact Centre team based in Lincoln. You will play a critical role within the Digital Engineering Practice, where alongside your colleagues in the Modern Contact Centre (MCC) Platform team you will lead on implementing technical features within the software as a service-based contact centre platform that supports our processes and practices in Anglian Waters Customer Contact Center.

What will you be doing?

Working within an agile, multifunctional team, alongside member of the Digital Product Practice, you will be accountable for supporting and enhancing the software platform, ensuring that the platforms 'configuration' is aligned to prioritised business goals, defined and tracked by the platform team and driven from the platform product owner.

You will be responsible for the on-going development of the platform with responsibilities including the identification and implement new data sources (for example through API development), platform configuration, platform monitoring, platform security, platform database administration and platform architecture, working hand in hand with the Digital Architecture Practice. In addition, you will act as a first line of resolution for service tickets related to the platform, appropriately triaging/resolving any issue before referring to the vendor.

You will help bridge any gaps in understanding between the business, any involved vendors and your DDaT (Data, Digital and Technology) engineering colleagues to ensure that best practice is followed and any changes or enhancements are developed with a consideration of the wider estate and any target architecture related to the platform.

You will work closely both with other Value and Platform teams as well as business stakeholders and end users of the platform you are aligned to. You will also work within the wider Digital Product Engineering Practice to share platform specific learning and other best practices to support the wider development of the practice.

The role will require out of Hours Support ( Weekdays: 5pm - 9am & Weekends: all day)

In order to support our 24/7 contact centre, an on-call, weekly, rota will be in place for the engineers within the contact centre service line. During your time on call you will become the contact point should an issue with the platform arise, where you'll either resolve or escalate to your support manager/s.

You will be compensated for both being 'on-call' and for being 'called-out' in line with Anglian Waters Standby policies.

What does it take to be a Platform Engineer

  • Degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Holds a strong appreciation for both business and technology
  • Knowledge of Agile process and principles
  • Proven stakeholder management experience
  • Has experience working with SaaS products
  • Energetic, positive and an excellent communicator
  • Able to translate technical jargon into understandable language for the business
  • Excellent Stakeholder management
  • Issue resolution and problem solving ability
