Finance Assistant
Our client has been established over 50 years, they supply an extensive range of high-quality products for TV, Wi-Fi, Networking and Home Security sectors, they are based in Sheffield
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing purchase invoices and credit notes accurately and in a timely manner
- Setting up new accounts
- Reconciling supplier statements and dealing with supplier queries
- Sales invoicing
- Credit control for all customers
- Supplier payments - credit card/BACS/IT
- Payments - Allocate cash to sales accounts
- Ensuring all invoices are authorised in line with company procedures
- Assisting with month-end reporting and providing support to the finance team
- Participating in process improvement initiatives to streamline purchase ledger activities
- Collating time sheets for monthly payroll preparation
- General administration support if/when required
Skills Required:
- Great numeracy skills
- Business acumen and interest
- Organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines
- Analytical ability
- Previous experience in purchase ledger/Sales Ledger / account's payable role
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel. Our client uses Merlin which is an ERP System
Working hours
Hours: 3 days a week (Flexible on days)
22.5 hours over the week (Flexible) working within the hours of 8am - 4pm.
The opportunity to work on a hybrid basis
Salary range: £25,000 - £27,000 pro rata DOE
