Worcester- hybrid - 3 days in the office

£50-55k

Experienced Sales Account Manager to drive, manage and develop product awareness and volume within existing accounts, ensuring the profitability of key customer accounts, whilst also identifying and developing new business opportunities with major retailers.

  • Working with Commercial Managers / Retail Director to foster and develop effective customer relationships with key accounts providing a complete service from sale to ensuring delivery.
  • Develop strong insight to the customers business needs through regular customer visits.
  • Identify customer needs and demands and incorporate knowledge in specific business area or market.
  • Update group commercial team and business CRM systems (currently Sales Force) with relevant customer information
  • Plan for continuous growth including budget setting with the Key Accounts.
  • Accountable for managing all steps in the sales process including Contracting, pricing, negotiation of terms & conditions, conclude the sale and introduction of contract to the business until payment of the invoice.
  • Prepare detailed pricing proposals in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring that all contributing factors have been considered and checked, ensuring right first time
  • Pricing negotiations on behalf of the customer and supplier
  • Liaise with accounts to manage customer credit and risk management.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to deliver on the business growth plan.
  • Consistently engage with the market by way of face-to-face meetings, events, and exhibitions with a view to raising your profile in the market and extending your market knowledge
  • Demonstrate full product, competitor and market knowledge and effectively use of this knowledge in building relationships with current and prospective customers.
  • Identify new and potential sales opportunities and follow up.
  • Fully understand the capabilities of the business, and work closely with development and technical teams to maximise potential business opportunities whilst providing an outstanding quality product and service.
  • Assist with promotional activity if required and market research

Skills required:

  • Good negotiating skills and ability to work in cross functional teams.
  • 2+ years' experience as a Sales / Account Manager within FMCG Food Manufacturing or similar
  • Strong new business developer
  • Excellent analytical and numerical capability
  • Excellent communication skills, including exceptional face to face presentation skills, and telephone manner.
  • Must be pro-active, highly organised with good time management skills
  • Strong ICT skills with proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Can demonstrate a collaborative approach; ability to work with and through others across business functions.
