This Teaching Assistant job will involve working one to one with children (Year 2 & Year 3) with ASD and Challenging Behaviour and supporting the class teachers with the day to day running of the classroom. This job is full-time and the working hours will be 08:30am- 15:30pm Monday to Friday, with a 30 minute lunch break.
Teaching Assistant one to one - Role & Responsibilities:
- Promote inclusion and acceptance of all children
- Support children consistently whilst responding to their individual needs
- Work with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/plans as appropriate
- Deliver catch-up sessions
- This SEND Teaching Assistant job will involve providing 1:1 support to a Year 1 child who requires assistance in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their true potential.
- This SEND Teaching Assistant role will involve keeping the child on task and ensuring that the work they are set is being done to a good standard.
Teaching Assistant Non-negotiables:
- Recent experience supporting children in either an education, social care, nursery, community/youth role, college/university placement or any volunteer roles.
- Be able to display excellent verbal communication as well as the ability to actively listen.
- Must have a passion for education
- Must have the ability to work under the guidance of the teacher
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Two suitable references covering the last 2 years.
Preferable:
- Level 2/Level 3 Qualification in Education or Social Care
