Excited to announce that I am working with a returning client of mine who are currently seeking a talented Public Affairs Executive to join the team. The role plays a pivotal part in supporting the Public Affairs department as well as safeguarding the company's corporate reputation and commercial interests through a variety of Public Affairs activities and programmes.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Public Affairs Manager, focusing on stakeholder engagement and addressing priority issues such as taxation, product regulation, and forthcoming legislation.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the creation and maintenance of a cross-party network of political stakeholders.
  • Develop relationships with new political stakeholders while managing the existing contact base.
  • Deliver key messages for priority issues through internal and external partner engagement, including parliamentary and third-party events, party conferences, and ad-hoc events.
  • Represent the company's agenda externally with selected third parties, including trade associations, think tanks, NGOs, and other groups.
  • Provide support to the wider Corporate Affairs team on ad-hoc projects as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A good standard of education, including GCSEs; a degree is desirable.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Public Affairs, with a detailed understanding and working knowledge of Westminster and parliamentary processes.
  • Familiarity with a commercial environment and issues faced by multinational corporations is desirable.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong business understanding.
  • Proficient in networking and relationship building.
