Our client, a biopharmaceutical company based near Cambridge, is looking for a Research Associate to join their growing team. The Research Associate will report to the Head of Biology and will interrogate the efficacy and safety of our client's cell therapy in a range of in vitro assays and in vivo models. The Research Associate will be based in the lab and will be expected to work with a team of scientists. Candidates will need to have experience working in a fast-paced, laboratory environment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Culture of cell lines and primary cells
- Cell differentiation and characterisation by flow cytometry, western blot, and immunofluorescence
- Analysis of blood samples by flow cytometry
- Cytokine measurement such as ELISA
- Recording and analysis of results and compliance with data integrity procedures.
Candidates are required to have the following skills and experience:
- A relevant BSc, MSc or equivalent experience in the areas of cell culture (immune cells, iPSC, HSC, ESC)
- Experience with setting up and running flow cytometry assays (essential)
- Experience with developing assays for detection of cytokine or antibodies
- Experience with ELISA
- Proven lab-based experience with protocol design, data recording, processing, and storage
- Fluency in English - spoken and written
- Strong communication skills
- Project experience
