Accounts Assistant | Gillingham | £28k - £30k
An opportunity for a full time Accounts Assistant has arisen to support our clients Finance team in Sales, Purchase Ledger and Credit Control functions. The role is based in Gillingham, Kent. 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Responsibilities and Activities:
- Raising the following in the Finance System:
o New Project details
o Contract Sales Orders
o Application for Payments
o Contract Sales Invoices
o Purchase Orders
o Purchase Invoices and checking there validity against the Purchase Order
o Sundry Sales Invoices
- Credit notes
- Creating new Customer and Vendors in the Finance System
- Running debtor reporting
- Bank reconciliations
- Processing Credit Card expenses and ensuring all relevant receipts have been provided
- Preparing and issuing statements as necessary
- Maintaining credit control operations in collaboration with colleagues as appropriate to ensure swift resolution of any required actions
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Running a VAT return
- Running a Supplier payment run
- Respond to time-critical emails and actions from clients or colleagues in good time
- Ad hoc tasks as directed by the Financial Controller, Group Transactional Manager or CFO to support Finance, HR, and/or Operational staff
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential
- A good understanding of Sale Ledger / Purchase Ledger / Credit Control
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel & Teams
- Good organisation, with efficient attention to detail
- Communication skills with both internal colleagues and external suppliers
- Time management with the inclusion of working to tight deadlines.
- Adaptability and flexibility to work within a fast paced environment.
- Qualified by experience and or qualification higher than secondary education
Desirable
- Understanding of industry in which the Group operates
- Experience within a Finance department
- Industry experience
Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £28,000 to £30,000
