Quality Controller

Quality Controller required for our leading Sudbury based client. Reporting to the Dyeworks Manager, the Quality Controller will ensure that materials supplied for production meet all necessary quality and performance parameters. As Quality Controller you will ensure that the products supplied for production meets all necessary quality and performance parameters. The role will be responsible for all activities through material testing and will be required within the peer group to work autonomously on testing procedures and decision making, escalating any support requirements where reasonably needed.

The Role

  • Accurate testing of materials using standard company procedures in a timely fashion to ensure production deadlines are met.
  • Work closely with suppliers to develop the quality of the raw materials and processes, to ensure that all variables are controlled within agreed limits.
  • Communicate results and information clearly to all necessary internal and external stakeholders appropriately to ensure delays are avoided.
  • Archiving and control of all test results and information and colour continuity to ensure history is maintained and available where requested.
  • Clearly communicating daily progress of testing and confirming completion of tests to allow material stock to be released for use.
  • Maintain a clear archive of all testing methods, material specifications and results
  • Communicate to external suppliers and testing houses to ensure testing results are confirmed and supply chain can coordinate movement of materials.

The Person

  • Essential to have previous experience in a material testing environment
  • Confidence in making judgement-based decisions, using a range of assessment approaches.
  • Strong IT skills particularly with spread sheets and databases
  • Previous experience of quality Assurance
  • Ability to organise multiple activities in a methodical and reliable manner.
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a wider team.
  • Have excellent hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Strong team player as well as the ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
